The Market Specialist team is a newly established team within the Corporate Financial Services division. The team is responsible for growing market share in nominated industries by offering clients access to dedicated industry specialists who have an in depth understanding of their needs.
The Market Development Specialist is a founding role within this new team. You will be responsible for sourcing and converting external business opportunities for the bank via a consultative selling approach, maximising volumes and revenue and ensuring an optimal customer experience. You will coach and lead a team of dedicated industry experts across a nominated geographic area. You will implement relevant strategic industry initiatives to position the bank to win new business and new clients. You will develop all external and internal referral networks to ensure the bank’s profile in the target industry is elevated to market leading position. You will be fully aware of the competitive landscape of the target industry and be able to articulate the bank’s value proposition.
You will discover client needs, conceptualise and articulate the solution desired by the client and work with specific product groups, the Relationship Manager and risk to deliver the solution. You will negotiate the commercial terms of transactions with clients and oversee the progress of deal execution through to conclusion.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience and a proven track record in sales/origination
- Extensive knowledge of bank products and financial services products and services
- tertiary qualifications in commerce/business
- extensive relevant industry knowledge and contacts
